Add Pinterest Into The Marketing Mix
On Pinterest, people are practically creating shopping lists with their boards. There is no other social platform with so many people engaged and ready to shop. You shouldn’t think twice before adding Pinterest to your marketing strategy.
If you don’t have a business that revolves around beautiful visuals, here are some ideas for you:
- you can create a board with pictures from your blog posts, thus creating a link back to your website and getting extra traffic from Pinterest
- you can create a board with the pictures you share on Instagram
- research your target audience to find out what their passions are and create more boards for them.
- study your competition and get inspired
If you still need convincing here are some of our guides on how to create and optimize your Pinterest boards:

Now let’s see how to best automate your Pinterest posting with JARVEE, step by step:
- Step 1 – Create a Destination List for your Pinterest Marketing
- Step 2 – Create a standard campaign
So, if you want to promote your blog on Pinterest, the best way to start is to create a board where you will be adding suggestive pictures from your articles that will link back to your site. This way you will create a new traffic source for your blog. After creating the board and setting up your Pinterest account in JARVEE, you need to go to the Destination Lists section and create a new destination list for this board.
So, click on the ADD NEW DESTINATION LIST, and select the board you just created in the Pages/Boards section. Click on the checkbox in the SELECTED column and, of course, give a name to your board.
- Step 3 – Add your Pinterest content
So, if your plan is to promote your blog posts, the best way to add this type of content on auto-pilot is to add the RSS feed from your blog to the campaign.
To do this, go to What to Publish and click on the RSS POSTS tab. Add your feed URL and template in the corresponding fields. Your template can be something like [TITLE], without other tokens, because we will set the blog post URL to be the pin’s Source URL.
Make sure you check “Create image post(where possible)” and “Set the feed link as the Post’s SourceURL”. This will ensure that your pin will direct users to your website.
Now click on ADD FEED.
In the table below you will see your newly added RSS feed. Here you can review your settings again and you can choose to extract as many posts as you want (by default it will extract the latest 10 posts). If you want to review your posts you can do that by clicking on the GET 5 TO DRAFTS. This will extract five posts and send them to the Drafts tab. You can check them out and see if it’s what you want, or you need to adjust the template or settings.
When ready you can click the START button. This will start the extraction of your latest posts and add them to the Posts List tab to be published when the campaign starts. Every time you will have a new blog post, it will be automatically added to the Posts List.
- Step 4 – Choose your timers
Go to When To Publish tab and choose how many posts you want to have per day. On Pinterest, you can have 5 or even more posts per day. If you have enough content you can easily share 10 or 20 posts per day without affecting your engagement. The best times to post though is in the afternoon and evenings.
In my Pinterest campaigns, I chose 5 posts per day between 10:00 AM and midnight, but you might want to test a few intervals and see what works best for you.
- Step 5 – Review your posts and start the campaign
Now you can go to the Posts List and see your first Pinterest posts. Make sure everything is ok and then go to the Overview tab to start your campaign.
That should keep your Pinterest account active for quite some time.
Just like for your Twitter or Instagram accounts, we have extra tools that will help you grow your Pinterest accounts faster than ever before. You can use the Follow and Unfollow tools to search and follow pinners in your industry. Some of them will check your account and follow you back. Then you have the Like, Comment and Repin tools that you can use in a similar way, to find pins in your niche and engage with them. People will notice you and either follow you or engage with your content.
We have video tutorials for all these tools, so if your goal is to grow your Pinterest accounts fast and quick, you should check them out.
Improve Your SEO With Google Plus
You might think that there is little incentive for you to start marketing your business on Google Plus. However, you got one thing right: this is no “ordinary” social network. Google Plus is, in fact, a social layer over Google’s products. This means that developing a strategy for this social channel, will not only help you reach a new, niched, audience, but will help you improve your relationship with other Google Services.
Let’s take the Google search for example. We can’t know for sure how Google’s algorithm works, but most certainly your presence on Google Plus can only help with your position in the search results.
If you already studied our tutorials on how to schedule your Facebook Marketing for an entire month in just 10 minutes with JARVEE, and how to grow your fanbase and traffic with sharing your content on specialized groups in your industry, then you pretty much know how to set up a campaign for Google Plus too.
You just need to follow the exact steps, and instead of adding your Facebook page, accounts, and groups you belong to, you need to create a destination list with all your Google Plus accounts, communities, and Pages.
Just like with Facebook, you have a Group Finder and Joiner tool that will help you find communities in your niche where you can share your content.
With Google Plus, you can adapt the same model to frequency and number of postings per day as for Facebook. So, the best strategy is to create a standard campaign that shares your marketing content on both social networks at the same time.
With JARVEE, you can easily do this, with no changes in the campaigns you already set up. If you already created a campaign for your Facebook Marketing using our previous tutorial, then in about 3 minutes you will have your Google Plus content automated as well.
How, so? Well, you just need to go to the Destination Lists tab and edit the Destination list you created for your Facebook Marketing:
- click on the destination list you created for your Facebook accounts, pages and groups
- select your Google Plus account, the pages, and communities you want to share your content with
- and you’re done, the same campaign will also post on your GooglePlus account.
Develop Your Business Connections With LinkedIn
LinkedIn is another social network that can help you expand your reach and improve your business results. It offers a wide range of tools for job seekers or HR departments, but not only that. It can be a powerful platform for business development and, if used right, can increase your traffic considerably.
One way to drive traffic to your website is to use your LinkedIn Profile to share the latest blog posts and news with your connections. You can promote your blog on LinkedIn simply by adding your profile to the destination list you created for your Facebook and Google Plus Marketing in the section above.
Another way to drive traffic to your website using LinkedIn is by searching and joining groups in your niche, where you can share your content with like-minded professionals. This way you will reach an entirely new audience that might not be present on Facebook or Twitter.
Searching for groups in your niche is quite easy when you have powerful tools like JARVEE’s Group Finder. To use Group Finder for your LinkedIn profiles, you need to go to the Tools section.
Here, click on the LinkedIn profile you want to use so you can access the tools available for this social network.
Click on Finder and set up your searching filters:
- first, add the keywords that define your industry so you find the most relevant groups
- also add an exclusion list of keywords to refine your search: for example, I want to find groups with people discussing social media topics, but I don’t want to find groups about social media jobs, so I add “social media jobs” to the exclusions list:
- now, you might want to skip groups that are too small or too big. You can set up minimum and maximum number of members.
- when ready you can start the group finder.
When the tool finished searching for groups based on your filters, you can review your results. If necessary, you can add to your keywords list or the exclusions list. After a few searches, you should have a nice collection of groups.
Select the ones that are big and active enough to meet your goals and send them to the Joiner tool.
The Joiner Tool will help you join all the groups you found with the Group Finder. All you have to do is set up some delays to avoid joining too many groups in a short period of time. I usually use the default settings to be safe.
After you click on the START GROUP JOINER you will see your groups moving from the “Waiting for a Join Request” section to the “Active Join Request” section in the Joiner tab.
Once you joined your targeted groups you can create a JARVEE campaign to share your content with the members of these groups.
So, in a few minutes, you did what other marketers do in hours, if not days of work.
Did I mention that we have video tutorials for all our tools and features? If you want to learn more about how to improve your social media marketing, check them out in the Video Tutorials tab.
Making a Pinterest Board can be fun and exciting. This is especially true for people who are visually creative and artsy.
But what if your forte is more on creating words than setting up a visual board that tells the story about your business?
Pinterest is a great social media platform to use when you want to explain your business through a series of images instead of just relying heavily on written content. You can show your audience pictures to help you describe to them what your brand is all about.
Creating a Pinterest Board is not just about slapping several images to your board and hoping for great results with your web traffic and sales conversions. It takes a certain amount of flair and panache to make a Pinterest Board that rock. You don’t have to be professionally trained or even enrolled in several creative classes just to design your Pinterest account.
But first thing’s first. Setup your Pinterest Business Account and make effort to make your Pinterest account really attractive to users. Since this is for your enterprise, create a Pinterest business account by following these steps:
- Go to www.pinterest.com and join as a business.
- Confirm your website.
- Get access to analytics for your business.
- Ensure that your company logo is always included in your pins. This will help your business when it comes to branding.
Once you have taken the steps in creating your business account, then you can start strategizing for your Pinterest Board.
#1 Create your Keyword List
A keyword list is very crucial to the success of your board. Keywords are similar to tags that let people shortlist the things that they want images of. The keywords you select should be relevant to your chosen industry.
You can create a spreadsheet for your main and subtopics. In doing so, you have already shortlisted the tags you want your Pinterest to be associated with. They will also serve as your inspiration for your own pins.
You could also use online tools to help you look for the most appropriate keywords for your business. Some examples of these tools that you can use include: Keyword Tool, SEMRush, Google Adwords Keyword Planner and many more.
Use Repinned.net to look for similar boards for your selected categories. This tool will also help you keep track of how well popular boards and pins fare.
#2 Choose Content Type for Boards
Before you choose content for your boards, you must have a clear vision of how you go about using Pinterest to promote your business. Don’t just start using without any concrete plans because your boards will only look confusing.
Even selecting the names for your boards should be well thought of. You can put different types of content on your board other than your usual images. You can upload GIFs, infographics, slideshows and even videos.
If you are selling different kinds of products, you can create a board for each of your product categories. For example, you sell different kinds of dresses online, you can create a board for each type of dress- casual, formal, evening dresses, for office, for party, etc….
Other boards that you can add- client testimonials and customer board where you can post different images of your customers wearing your products.
#3 Know Your Competitor’s Activity
There’s a saying, “Keep your friends close, your enemies closer” and it could be applied to your competitors here. It’s imperative that you know what your competitors are doing. You do not have to duplicate what they are doing but being familiar with their activities will make it possible for you to level up with them.
#4 Find Pinners
The next logical step now is to look for pinners that you can follow. By signing up on PinAlerts, you will receive notifications every time someone pins something they have taken from your website. You can also use this feature to track your competitor’s activities.
Using PinAlerts is easy. After logging in, you can just type the URL you wish to monitor. It could be yours or that of your competitor’s. You even have the options to select the frequency on when you would like to receive alerts. It could be as it happens, once an hour, once a day or even once a week.
Pinterest also gives you the option to know who pinned content with live Pinned By. You can visit the profile of the pinner and follow him/her.
#5 Sync your Pinterest with your Facebook account
Does your business already have a Facebook page? Then sync your Facebook page with Pinterest using Pinvolve, an application that you can install that updates your Facebook with the latest pins from your Facebook account.
#6 Watermark your own pins
To establish branding, always put watermarks or logo on all pins you will upload to your Pinterest Board. That way no matter how many times your image gets re-pinned, Pinners will know where it came from. Aside from the logo, you can also create your own template or frames to use for the images.
This is advisable as it creates a trademark for your business.
#7 Curate Powerful Content
If you are just starting with Pinterest, a good thing that you can do is to upload or re-pin valuable evergreen pins that will motivate pinners to follow your board and share your images.
Looking for content to curate is quite easy with the aid of a tool like BuzzSumo. You just need to type your keywords and the tool will provide you with all kinds of information. This can be filtered by Pinterest shares.
#8 Look for Evergreen content pins
Evergreen content is vital content that remains relevant for quite some time. You can search for evergreen content from sites like Reddit. Metareddits help you find popular subreddits. Subreddits with a good following are written on bigger fonts. You can sort through the best performing submissions of all time.
#9 Track RSS feeds
Using an RSS reader, build your own dashboard filled with custom RSS feeds to get valuable content for your Pinterest board from blogs performing well on Pinterest, subreddits and other resources.
#10 Keep track of your metrics
Tracking your performance in all your marketing efforts is a rule of thumb. Pinterest should not be an exemption. Determine which metrics you want to keep track of.
#11 Put the Pin It button
According to Pinterest, the Pin It button is the “best way for your business to get discovered on Pinterest. When you add the Pin It button to your site’s pages, you let your customers save things they like onto Pinterest, which means even more people can find it”.
Wrapping it Up
A great Pinterest board has a lot of followers and pins get shared all the time. You don’t really have to pin as many images as you want. What is important here is that the pins on your Pinterest Board are relevant and valuable to pinners who follow your account.
Are you looking to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following? Are you looking for people with the same interest but may have different ideas?
Pinterest has become more than just social media which is why I would want to talk to you about how to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following too. Pinterest is the “go-to” website for DIYers and is the biggest online catalog of most, if not all, ideas about anything that anyone can think of, do or has done.
Some common techniques before were merely completing your Pinterest profile and maybe appealing to pinners with similar and or current thoughts, but along with the changes in technology comes a variety of improvements which you can do to enhance your Pinterest boards and grow your following too.
#1 Adding that Pinterest Follow button
We’ve all heard how optimizing your website does wonders to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following, and one way of doing that is by adding the Pinterest Follow button on your website. Amongst your regular website followers, one or maybe all of those would have a Pinterest account. And if they see something they like, the best way for them to show their appreciation is by clicking on that Pinterest follow button.
And this works both ways, but of course, you have to choose the boards you follow so that you could get interesting content to re-pin on your Pinterest homepage that fits your content.
#2 Connecting other Social Networks
I’m pretty sure that you have other accounts on social-networking sites and it is a big help to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following by bringing in your friends and family and even your other followers from other social-networking sites like Facebook, Twitter or Google+ who also have a Pinterest account.
Of course, you could use these other platforms in promoting your own Pinterest boards as well. Sharing is the biggest factor, and with these social-networking platforms, you could do a lot of sharing. While you are sharing your pins and boards, others who like it and are thinking of doing the same will follow suit.
Take your time to find friends from other social-networking platforms with similar interests, check out if they have a Pinterest account, then follow them on Pinterest. And someone will follow you too.
#3 Promoting Individual Boards
Sometimes, if not always, we follow someone in these social-networking sites not because of their profile but on certain topic or boards that may have caught your attention. So instead of promoting your Pinterest profile, try and take note of your popular boards and promote them on Pinterest, other social-networking platforms, and forums or blogs too. But be sure to promote at different times and a variety of boards so as not to satiate your followers so quickly. Leave something for them to look forward to.
#4 Following others
You would have a steady follower rate when you follow more people on a daily basis, since one or more is bound to follow you back. But as mentioned earlier, choose the people you follow and follow those that tackle the same niche or close to it.
Choose profiles that are not dormant and if possible, verified and at 100% completion. Choosing otherwise increase the chance of that profile to be bogus and won’t follow you back.
#5 Having Events or Contests
People enjoy freebies and one way to give out freebies is through social media events or contests. This is also an easy way to attract attention to your profile and improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following by creating contest like looking for the most relevant pin or re-pinning a board on Facebook to garner likes and followers.
These events and or contests will help you determine which of your followers are active or not and makes it easier for you to see who to follow back or not.
#6 Keeping your followers interested and wanting more
One thing you could do is keeping your board organized by sticking to one topic per board. Steer clear of irrelevant shares or re-pins to your board so as not to lose followers.
Organization is the key. Your followers tend to pin or repost your boards because they will one way or another, come back for it or keep it for reference later. If your boards are clutter free, it will surely keep your followers happy, and happy followers help improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following since they would have followers of their own that are happy too.
#7 Strategize Pinning Schedule
Don’t share or re-pin everything in one sitting. Experiment on different pins on different times and different intervals. This could help avoid flooding your followers’ feeds with all of your pins. Be sure to test various pin times and make use of other social-networking platforms to advertise your boards and pins at different times of the day.
The easiest way to test various pin times and to keep a consistent pinning schedule, while still saving precious time is to use social automation tools like JARVEE. What’s more exciting with JARVEE is the extent to which you can automate the little things that take way too much time than we estimate.
For example, you can create a folder where you can add your pins and thanks to the Monitor Folder option in JARVEE, every time you add a new pin it will be automatically added to your campaigns and published to Pinterest. This can be a regular folder or a Dropbox folder. All you have to do is create and add your pins to the designated folder.
That’s just one of the many time-saving options in JARVEE! The best strategy is to explore them all and settle for those that match your needs.
Take inspiration from popular pins and see the timing and perhaps theme of when it was pinned. Rely on research and learn the best times when to do your pinning. Keep improving your posting times until you reach the perfect formula.
#8 Featuring other How-to Profilers to have a network of DIYers
Partnering with other pinners helps improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following simply because it widens your reach so to speak. They could have followers that are also interested in your niche, and a couple is bound to follow you. That’s why the best strategy is to reach Pinterest influencers in your niche. This also helps your guest pinner widen their audience as well. It is a win-win situation for both of you.
#9 Commenting on Popular Pins
Pinterest has a section broadcasting pins that are popularly pinned and repinned or liked on or commented upon. It is best to take advantage of these popular posts by commenting thoughtfully on the topic or liking and repinning these to your own profile.
Refrain from 2-word comments and instead, add some input on the topic showing that you are interested in their pins and not just dropping by to gather followers.
#10 Mentioning others
Another way of sharing your profile or boards is by mentioning others in your pins or re-pins. Their followers will be curious as to who mentioned the person they are following and eventually, someone will click on that follow button on your profile if a post or board interest them.
Wrapping it Up
Keep in mind and don’t forget to add that Pinterest button or Pinterest widget wherever you can. Connect to other social-networking platforms and share, and share a lot to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following. Make use of your network and others as well. Promote your Pinterest boards and others’ boards too.
Host events and contests, and determine your active followers from your dormant ones. And remember to follow back and choose wisely who you follow. Stay within your niche, or close to it. Unless it is your guest profile or your pin and re-pinning partner. Stay organized. Show your followers you care about them. Keep them happy, and wanting more.
“Don’t forget, timing is the key.”
Strategize the schedules of your pins, use automated software or platforms like JARVEE, and be careful not to flood your followers’ feed. Don’t share it in one go. This will greatly help you to improve your Pinterest boards and grow your following.
