A friend of mine has a tech startup and with LinkedIn, he was able to find a colleague of his that had similar interests. They are now partners for around 4+ years and their company is generating a pretty neat revenue.
I myself have yet to find someone of similar interests but time will tell..

Groups are a very nice way to connect. In a period of 3 years i was able to refer around 10+ people to some of my friends companies.
Many say that they haven’t had success with linkedIn in terms of finding a job but i disagree with them
Being the first to respond in LinkedIn really makes you seem like a professional in the eyes of many other professionals. It makes ones feel really confident.
LinkedIn is a nice way of marketing yourself as a person. A nice strategy would be to share your own explainer-type videos in niche-related groups and perhaps even have a little bit of email opt-ins on your blog if you chose to direct them there.

One thing i’d mention in this article is that if one gets used to the atmosphere in LinkedIn, Using LinkedIn ads will have a much smoother learning curve.
So For advertisers it’s almost a necessity to get a grip of the atmosphere in LinkedIn.
I slightly disagree with everyone, LinkedIn is a bit overrated in terms of scoring a nice job. Getting a nice job all depends on the industry, I have seen some colleagues get a job because of LinkedIn, but some have never even gotten a response from anyone even though they have very shiny CV’s.
Linkedin Groups are great for online networking. Usually people who are active on Linkedin they will be interested to communicate and to give their opinion. This way you can generate knowledge and create connections with other people online.

Whether you are an employer or employee Linkedin Groups are a must. These are awesome channels for getting new knowledge and connections. But it also allows you to give and share with others and knowledge increases by sharing.
Linkedin is a really powerful media. The main reason why is the fact that there are no children and “youth”, just professionals the ones that are trying to become one.
